is there any difference?

   between a vtr bottom end and a vts bottom end for example could i use a vtr block with a vts head?

   Pretty sure the oil and water ways are in different places so it wouldnt line up correctly. Why would you want to do that??

   not gonna do it! was just generally interested as they are both 1.6 engines so was wondering!

   I thought the 16 and 8v bottom ends were the same except a couple minor parts like pulleys being different. I know you can use the 16v bottom end or pistons in the 8v bottom (with valve cutouts) to increase Compression Ratio.

   Search it it. Im pretty sure its been cover and not do-able, well it is but not work it due to the dowls and stuff.

   16v bottom end has been used with an 8v head before. Lad on the Rallye Register done it.
