how much can you get from a furio engine?

if i cammed my engine and remapped the ecu what sort of gain will i get? is it worth it?

also iv seen somewhere that you can put a 106 rallye throttle body in a furio, can you put a vtr one in? or wont it make any difference.

    cheers

i think a s1 rallye inlet and body would be the best because its metal not plastic??

To be honest mate its probs a lots easier to drop a VTS lump in.

Will be the quickest way of adding power, and from there you can cam that etc.

just seems such a big job, but it would prob be alot easier. will it mean i need a new exhaust, gear box etc?

VTS engine with a Rallye gearbox FTW

it all depends on money mate, if your doing the work yourself would be cheaper to do a conversion, plus you'd get more power from a standard vts lump, with a cammed and remapped 1.4 you'll probs only be looking at similar power to a standard vtr, correct me if im wrong.

i have a furio and im gonna put a vts lump in its the best power gain you could do for your 1.4

you will need a new exhaust but you can use any gearbox.

I'd really try a 1.4xsi head. Its supposed to give 100hp and your furio engine is lighter and no other mods required.

Rail roader ^ think you could be right.

There was a guy on here that cammed and had a metal inlet on his furio not sure what hes running.

It would be quicker than a vtr, a furio would sit on a vtrs bumper.

Sounds good to me. When you say the head is that pistons etc aswell? So a whole engine really? Would that need a new manifold?

Just the head, the bottom end is the same as far as I know. It might come with manifold so you can experiment which ones best/

Nah just the head, so the cam and valves. The xsi probably has a very wild cam, as a piper cam isnt going to give a furio 100bhp. You would probably need to get it mapped after fitting the head, i could be wrong and i might just run a little lumpy, try it and let us know.

Where do you get you £600 from?

surely it would cost more to put a vts in? will need new exhaust, ecu, dials, most likely brakes and maybe more?

what would be better 1.4xsi or a vtr head?
