Really high idling (not a Saxo)

  1. #1
car: Pug 206 1.4 8v (same engine as furio)

got a problem with the idling, when i start the car up it revs upto 3k for a few seconds then drops do 1500rpm, it will then bouce down to around 7/800rpm and back to 1500rpm in a continous pattern. when your driving it shoots to 7000rpm and just revs up and down between 7/800rpm and 1500rpm.

ive never come across anything like before!

ive cleaned the throttle body out and cleaned up the idle control valve but still nothing.

any one have any suggestions? or come across this before?

    any help is appreciated

Had similar on my saxo mate, ive had new ICV and TB, cleaned both old and new, then narrowed it down to:

    Air leak around ICV
    Lambda on the way out
    ICV stepper motor<---probable

but out of no where mine stopped and hasnt for ages now *touches wood*

I cleaned the icv, throttle cable it wudnt be that as its revving up and down by itself. Sounds like its sucking a lot of air in from somewere to? Going to try my stepper rmotor frm my 1.4 8v see if it makes a difference.

    Thanks for your help guys!
