gti Not starting!

   Right,
   
   I've had a search, and can't seem to find a answer to my issues!
   
   Ive had a few problems with the car recently, mainly the battery!
   
   But after the Fast show this weekend, a starting issue has arisen. At first it took a few attempts, then at towards end of sunday, it took even more attempts, untill just now. I sat there for 10mins trying to start it, but it just cranks and cranks and cranks.
   
   I can't seem to hear the fuel pump prime, which i thought i could normally.
   
   I'm not sure what could have caused this, but i did recently put in some red-ex for petrol cars, to clean as i had some odd running issues too.....
   
   any answers would be very helpful!

   is the engine turning over? Check your injectors plugs cuz less fuel might be cuming out of em, when u test em it shoots out fast, if not get diagnostics test on it mate..

   Yer, it just keeps turning over, but not starting!
   
   I can smell fuel, so maybe its not sparking.....how can I check this?

   whip the plugs out and earth them to something and while turning over check if its sparking.

   get a multimeter on the fuel pump and see if its getting power? eliminate that first, then check sparks, coil, injectors etc
   
   just a process of elimination from there
