Hi guys, as per title really, sadly I dont have the whole story as yet as Ive just spotted this 2001 1.1 Desire going cheaply and had a quick chat with the owner. Basically while driving the car becomes really jerky, splutters to a halt and now the key symbol is flashing up on the dash so will not start.
Ive had a quick look round immobiliser problems on here and it looks like its not possible to temporarily disable the immob to get it going due to the ECU. Is this correct and is it therefore an auto sparky job only?
I havent seen any relevant posts as to why the car would have stopped in the first place, is there a common fault with these engines? Essentially everything is telling me not to bother even thinking about this but half of me is still curious and if solving the problem is relatively inexpensive there could be some money to be made!
