Whining when turning

   Noticed this morning when parking at uni that something is whining/screeching when I turn my steering wheel. What could be causing this?

   mine used to do this when one of the belts was wet,
   think it was the alternator one cant remember now
   was really embarrasing lol

   Could be the PAS pump mate, Mine did it now its died so got to buy a new one!
   
   does it get louder when turning or does it change when turning thats how you cant tell if it is the pump

   could be just the noise of the PAS pump, is it loud or quiet?

   I'll check if it changes as I turn the wheel later. I let my mate turn the wheel for me while I stood outside and I could hear it so it's fairly loud

   mine did this, just topped up the pas fluid. seems to have quietened it down.

   I will go and check the fluid. I don't think it is the PAS though because there seems to be a noise when im setting off also, could it be the driveshaft at all?

   Mines just done this and died after a few days
   
   Armature bearing had collapsed
