Grey Relay

  1. #1
    Hi peoples.

Before you start i've had a search..

Could someone tell me what the grey relay (next to the interior fuses) controls? From searching i've found its the indicators and hazards (same thing yardyardyar), but does it control anything else?

I've got a problem everytime i connect the battery up on a saxo i'm getting a buzzing noise and a less quiet ticking noise. I found the source, the grey relay. If i remove the relay and connect the battery then it doesn't make the noise.

This is with everything off, key out of ignition, all lights turned off, indicators turned off etc.

I've tried a working relay and still getting the same problem, my guess its a problem with whatever the relay controls, such as indicator stalk? Thats on my next list to do, replace the indicator stalk.

Does the grey relay control anything else?

As far as I know its just for the indicators/hazards mate if your indicator stalk is faulty it could be that your getting a trickle of current going back from the stalk to the relay.Have you checked the stalk connections?

I had this problem with my VTS, Same issues as you paul but my sidelights would stay on constantly until i switched the car off.

I just replaced the indicator stalk and the problem was fixed
