Revs dropping in fast build up of speed in saxo 1.4 westcoast??

about 2 months back my car cut out(not completely).the breakdown recovery said my coil pack had gone and then got towed home.got one from a scrap yard and fitted it ok and everything was ok with it until about six weeks after that the same thing happened again.it was the same noises so thought i try another coil pack(used of ebay) and got another one and fitted it and ok again.

only this time the revs dont hold steady.i have to go to about 15mph in first gear to get the revs to 3000 so when i change gear it doesnt drop below 2000.it seem when the revs drop in a gear change, it kind of stutters/vibrates,the best word i can use to describe it.if i build up speed slowly it doesnt really happen, but if i put my foot down to fast then it stutters more.

at the moment i try to change gear when hitting 3000 rpm and build up speed slowly to minimize the stuttering.lorrys seem to beat me of lights!

is this problem related to the coil pack still?i managed to get it home the 2nd time it broke down using 1st and 2nd gear only as the first time i just called for recovery.have i did more damage that way?what could be the most likely cause of this problem?

from what Ive read here, the Mk1 coilpacks [on the end of the block] are much more reliable than the Mk2s. Rob you describing the symptoms of a weak spark, have you tried new spark plugs?? If the plug gap is too wide it can make your coilpack fail
