MOT Exhaust Emissions Help

    1.4 8v engine 1998 failed mot emissions and need sorting asap

    Fast Idle

    Co 2.75 limit of 0.30 failed
    HC 163 limit of 200 pass
    Lambda 0.943 limit 0.97 - 1.03

    2nd Fast Idle

    Co 2.85 limit of 0.30 failed
    HC 224 limit of 200 pass
    Lambda 0.935 limit 0.97 - 1.03

    Natural Idle

    Co 0.68 limit 0.50

    Anybody able to help

    Also ECM fault 070150 lambda probe sensor probe malfunction

    think its the lambda but not sure

    Yep, bung a new (good quality) lamda sensor in there and check for any pre-cat exhaust damage or cracking.

    have put another lambda sensor on and the code has gone off the ecu, pipe is all tightly sealed qith no damage before the cat, what you reckon of needing a new cat?

    Put some CAT cleaner through it and give it a good drive, say about 50m on the motorway, should clean things up a little. That's what I did for mine anyway
