  1. #1
    16v jp4 engine.

first start it started up and didnt idle at all! only ran when accelerator down.(2k revs)

    since then ive changed
    icv, tps,map,crank,lambda,knock.

When i changed crank the engine idled.

But very bad as video shows.
Now ive checked injectors which are all firing.
spark plugs for spark which is very good.
    Coilpack is fine too!

    What can it be?

    Ive checked timing
    and its correct

    heres video

has it got a vacuum leak on the intake?
  3. #3
    Nope.
the hose is from the inlet to servo is in & is fixed....
my brake lines arent in MC though
  4. #4
the brake pipes wont affect it mate, there aint a split in the servo pipe is there, has the manifold been off?
  5. #5
no split no. ive checked. sprayed wd40 to check for any leaks.
  6. #6
wd40 wont really show a leak mate, is there any other vacuum pipes
  7. #7
What did you do just before the problem started? it looks like you've been mucking about with it. Did you reset the ICV when you installed it? That means switching ignition on and off a few times.

Sounds like an issue i had a few years back with one of my vts's,
That turned out to be the lambda sensor in the manifold,
The heating element had packed up and it wasnt getting to the operating temperature, is it better when the cars warmed up.

    ecu???

ICV is obv ok as it is letting the engine rev, just not constant.
Won't be a air/vacuum leak as the engine will just rev high with the extra air being let in.

How much charge has the battery got? Alternator working ok to charge the battery?

Soapy water is best for checking leaks.
