you'd have to undo the two bolts with the springs on, then pull the pipes apart and slide the fire ring off, how come you need it off??

ive undone the 2 bolts and pulled the pipes apart but the ring seems to be really stuck the reason im changing it is that my bolts were loose and as rusty as fook and i snapped one so im putting a new fitting kit on

ah i see, the ring slides over the exhaust by about 1cm, its probably corroded, should come off with a pry with a screw driver, if not spray a little bit of wd40 on it and it should help it come off

If that fails you can gently nudge it off using a chisel and tapping it out. If you don't have a chisel just grab an eating fork from your kitchen and use that.
