how do you tell if driveshaft has gone and which one?

when i go on the motorway after about 2-3mins at 60-80 when you go to decrease acceleration you'll hear a grinding/rubbing noise which you can kinda feel throughout the car, if i accelerate itll go as soon as i let the engine brake, in gear, clutch in or in neutral (tried them all ) it'll do the grind noise like a rubbing and also a rattle when you turn left.

the noise will no be there after the car has been left and usually doesnt come until youve had the car at 50+ but will usually occur when it likes, once it has then itll do it until the journeys over...

I got told it's a CV joint just noisy but this is a little more than noisy...

also a high pitch squeel has come louder now in the same area which sound like the front left which is the most annoying sound. literally had people turn around to see what the grinding/squeeling was.

Help much appreciated! I'm planning on jacking the car up and changing the driveshaft myself rather than the cv joint? or do i need the joint aswell?
How would i tell if it's deffinately the passenger side, are there any give-away or tell-tale signs?

sounds like a wheel bearing to me. driveshaft going is normally a knocking sound every time you are on or off the throttle, and often round corners

yeah the nocking/rubbing does do that on and off the throttle but only starts properly when youve gone above 50 then constantly at any speed until the journeys over pretty much and round corners it makes a rattling/knocking sound.

The high pitch noise prolly will be the wheel bearing, could this have been casued by the dodgy driveshaft?

also this all starting after a truck on the A road flicked a rock into my lane and under my passenger front wheel, didn't half sound like it put my wheel through my arch, bit of a bump at a fast speed to be fair... it was unavoidable by the way

    Thanks! :Y:
