steering problem

    hi
ok, i have a shaking from the front when driving at motorway speeds 60,70,80 etc etc,at low speeds the car is fine, i have had my wheels balanced all round, tyres checked, does anyone know what this could be? i have been told it could be my drop links that need replacing?

There are not that many things that cause vibrations at those speeds, are you sure the balancing was done correctly, i presume you have centerless wheels, not many people have the adapters for them we do where i work and are always having to rebalance them when others have failed, in fact we had a C2 in today that kwik fit couldnt do,
It could also be a flat spot in your wheel from the likes of pothole damage etc,
Or if you are running budget tyres they are very rarley completly round as they are made to a price so no amount of balancing can get them to run right,
Usually when suspension components are worn or broken they tend to clunk, creak or knock and dont cause those symptoms,
    Hope this helps.

One test i would do for a start is change the wheels front to back and see if it helps, if you feel vibrations through the seat then there is an issue with what was the front wheels.
