Rev Noise

Well its been doing this since i bought it now and its gettin annoying and id just like to know what it is..

whenever i hold the car on a certain amount of revs it makes this weird noise
It does it when the rev needle is pointing to the mark exactly below 10 & 20 , and if you hold the revs on that mark it wont go off.

Also does it when stationary in neutral with jus foot on pedal, its really loud and irritating

anyone know what this could be ?

    Cheers for any answers

Its hard to explain, It only does it when the needle on the rev counter is on the Exact Mark under the Numbers 10 and 20 whenever the needles goes a tiny bit of that mark it goes off clutch doesnt effect anything it does it either when the clutch is dipped or released, its like a really loud grinding sound..

Ive marked the lines on these set of dials they arent mine just as an example..
Whenever the needles pointing to Dead on either of those 2 marks the noise comes ... and a tiny bit over the mark it goes off. if your in neutral and put ur foot down on the pedal and keep the needle exactly on either of those 2 marks the noise will not stop until you go over/under the mark

Very annoying as going 40mph in 5th the needle is pointing to the 2nd mark and the noise doesnt go off

What kind of noise? Where is it coming from? You sure its not just the exhaust banging on the car?

It sounds like its coming from the rear of the car, the noise is like a really loud grinding/vibration sound

If its to do with the revs then its probably the exhaust catching on the car. Jack the rear of the car up and get a mate to rev the engine, see if you can locate the noise. It will either be catching on the heat shielding, or the backbox will be on its way out so the baffles will be rattling inside the box.

I have something very similar to this, but you cant hear the vibrating outside the car...
I believe it may be my cat pipe knocking on the mount before the centre pipe. But i also think i have many other rattles too lol.

    Resonant frequencies.

    Get some new exhaust rubbers.
