saxo paintwork

   hey all
   bit worried have just bought another saxo and washed it for the first time< after washing twice the paint work felt slighty rough and like a matt finish if this makes sense thought i would try and polish but really struggled taking the polish off on the bonnett could this be a problem with the lacquer??? any other ideas or what i could try on it

   A light cutting compound then wax afterwards.

   Has it had any bodywork done? If so could be overspray, Claying the affected area will work.

   im not sure if it has been sprayed mate! its weird because feeling the body work now the roof is the same texture aswell as the boot?? it has quite a bit of green alge on the rubbers etc so may have been sat up for a while?
