Oil In Spark Plug Hole

  1. #1
    Cars been misfiring badly.

Got a set of spark plugs today, went to take the first one out (far right one) and it was sitting in oil, and when i took it out it was covered in oil!

Any idea why this may be and how to get the oil out?

My Rocker gasket leaks quite alot so think it could be that. Any other ideas?

I just dont know how to get the oil out the hole!

    Its an '03 VTS btw

There is a possibly of the rocker cover seal leaking & doing that yes, change the seal & the plugs take it for a run then check the pug/s again.

stick a cloth down the hole and let that suck as much as it can then spray another cloth with wd40 stick that down and that will clean the rest of it.

mite as well get a rocker cover gasket there only 5 quid from Andrew page motorfactor's.

sounds like a plan, but its so farr down right at the bottom :/

not for a vts. need instant sealant. not a quick job like on a vtr

Sprayed some wd-40 down into the spark plug hole and put the old spark plug in and ran it to try and burn the crap out.

Fitted new spark plugs and still misfiring. ordered a coilpack for tomorrow! £86, lets hope that fixes it!
