Poorly fitted panels (With Pictures)

  1. #1
    Hey Guys.

I've owned a mkII vtr for about a month now and I've noticed some of the driver's side panels are fitting quite badly in comparison to the opposite side.

This is what they look like. Does anyone know what I can do about this?

    Drivers side Wheel arch

Big gap between the door and the wing

    Under the head light

Gap between head light and the bonnet :/

    All help appreciated. Thanks.

Has it been in an accident?
You could spend an afternoon taking them off and having a look at the conditions of all the clips etc?

If you take the front bumper off mate there is a panel that holts 2 white spikes that hold the bumper on. If you bend the panel back straight then the bumper will fit correctly without the gap under the headlight.

the wing you just need to loosen all the 10mm bolts and slide it towards the door so you should have about a 4-6mm gap in the door shut lines and the bonnet shut lines.

You just got to think its going to be about 10 years old and things will be starting to loosen and move especially with Citroen build quality.

It only takes the smallest knock on the drivers side bumper to bend the panel with the white spikes and it throes the whole wing and bumper off mate i have seen it loads at work on saxo's not so much with the 106 but there stronger metal on the slam panel.

Awesome pal cheers. I'll have a look into doing that!

The car only cost me £180 so I wern't too bothered about the ill fitting panels, but now its starting to annoy me. I havn't got a clue if it's been in an incident.

prob's not mate with accidents you normally get no panel gaps at all due to the crush. And for £180 who cares lol just take the bumper off and bend the panel back mate and your sorted get some pic's of it up in the progress thread mate.

Oki dokey I'll do that. I've been contemplating a progress thread recently. It's not really a proper full blown transformation I want to go for, just a few little trinkets to make it more personal. Thanks once again
