Hi, i should be getting my saxo really soon (hopefully next week). I was wondering if i buy a suspension kit (springs and shocks), what do you get??? 2 front springs and 2 front shocks??? or do you get rear shocks as well?? if so are these hard to replace???

    Help would be much appreciated
    Thanks, Jamie

i think full kits always come with rear dampers aswell. any garage will do these for you! it is possible to change them yourself though.

    Then click "Technical"

rear shocks will be with the kit, they are a piece of piss to replace but make sure you have had your weetabix to undo the bolts and redo them up again

Orite, thanks 4 the help guys. Do you think having a suspension kit will make a lot of difference to the handling?? Or should i just get sum springs??

depends how low your wanting too go really! most people agree that 30-40mm springs alone are ok. but any lower and you need a kit!

    hope this helps!

Depends on what you want to do with the car and the type of roads you use. I had a set of 50mm springs on mine with standard shocks. They found the wheely bin pretty quick after a few weeks of bouncing around all over the place. Personally I wouldn't lower a car unless I'd really looked into it. The Koni kit seems to be ok for a cheap sollution, though The GMC Bilstein dampers and a set of custom springs willmake the car handle a fark load better

ok thanks, i am going 2 lower it 40mm i think when i get the money. i spose any garage can adjust the torsion bar 4 me???

Koni cheap?? uve gotta be kidding. They come with a lifetime guarantee there aswel which i thought was good.

Its easy enough to fit all the parts yourself if you have time and something sturdy to put the car on. Unless uve got alot of patience though let a garage do your torsion bar.

i got a spax 40m lowering kit . 2 front springs , 2 rear dampers , 2 front dampers , adjust torsion bar to 45m . nightmare getting my bolts off had to replace some .

a full kit includes 2 springs, 2 rear shocks an 2 front shock inserts, not all garages will adjust ur torsion bar tho as they can b a bit of a pain in the arse 2 do at times. sometimes they just come apart an other times they can b a bastard.

    cheers

gmc springs (think they're eibachs) or faulkner's custom springs (custom length and poundage) , but if you can stretch to it then the full grpN bilstein kit from gmc (either with their springs or the faulkner's as mentioned). bit more expensive than others but the superior quality is worth it.
