Few Little Issues

  1. #1
    Morning all,

    I have a few questions.

My clucth squeeks (sp) lol i have loads of play left and drives perfect

My gear leaver under the gator also does a noise too like from the white plastic bit.

Also some times when i turn the wheel say from full lock to normal at a slow driving speed i get like a nock twanging sound, isit because im slammed in the wweds?

    Any help woudl be great

Clutch squeak - adjust it so it stops squeaking and minimises the wear.

Gear leaver - get some liquid grease / oil in there to lube it up

nock twanging sound - does it make the car judder? If so it may be the wheel baring
if it just goes doink (nock twanging) when you get to full lock, my saxo used to do this as standard, heard something about drop links, look in the FAQ section think there is something in there about it.

I dont think its anything like that (wheel) i get no nocking or anything when driving its just moving the wheel with strane at slow speeds, i was thinknig mabye pas pipe?

have a look under the car on the passenger side for the pas pipe and see if there are any areas on the pipe that have experienced rubbing.

My car used to make it on full lock, kind of a twang / doink sound, but not at any other time.

When my wheel baring went, when turing full lock going round in a semi circle the whole car juddered and felt like the front end was bouncing off the ground!

Yeh sounds simular to yours. maybe its just shit build again...

How sure are you about the other issues? just adjust the clutch cable you say?

Isnt squeeky clutch a case of it just needs greasing up? mines does it and my clutch bites right at top (ok for chanigng gear while driving but shit for setting off)

i have a squeeking noise from front, is it actually near your wheel or does it sound like its just coming from under the bonnet?
  8. #8
I dont have a squeeking noise from the bonnet mate its more of a twanging noise

Leckie take the wheel off and grab the droplink, if there's any play in it then that's your problem. also for the clutch adjuster/gear selector rods, make sure you use heat resistant grease, as that's the main problem- people use oil/normal grease which isn't heat resistant and it just melts away as soon as it becomes hot.

sounds like the noise when y power steering and drop link went so could be either you still need to move your pipe as your in the weeds and its catching
  15. #15
i no paul but i dont know how to do it
  16. #16
tues il bring my spanners young man n we shall have a go and will check your drop links to
  17. #17
if it's the power steering pipe rubbing, then it's on the driver's side, you'll see where it's been rubbing and you just bend it out the way with a lever or long screwdriver etc. job done.
