Worth replacing a clutch by myself?

My clutch is on its way out and I was wondering if it's worth me and my mate giving it a go? He has axle stands, jacks and some tools. Anyone know wot I need? Except the clutch? Cheers

Gearbox oil, plenty of cups of tea and 3 hours + of work.
Not very difficult but you have to remove lots and lots of stuff which takes time.

easier if u have a compressor and air gun. errr a long bar for knocking out the bottom ball joints easier to bash that rarter than the wishbone itself just becareful with the drive shaft. oh and a copper hammer is defo needed to knock the shafts out the hub or you'll fuck the threads and have to get a new saft, work in stages, remove everything ontop then half way down (shafts, lower ball joint ect) the the underneeth stuff. also when removing the box drop it down onto a jack.

hardest bit really is aligning the clutch and fitting the gearbox back on. if its not inline its a nightmare to get the box back on as there quite heavy lol

Yeh, as said, getting the gearbox back on is the hard part!
Using a trolly jack and two people is the best bet, but still, took me and my dad best part of three hours to refit the gearbox.
Taking it all apart is the easy bit!
Still, it is possible and will save you a good 200 quid for labour at a garage.

can give it a go mate, is very simple when u know how and deffo doable if u dont know how if u take ur time. but ur at risk if u start it and get stuck then the car is no longer mobile so see if anyone is local on here and pay them to do it..
