Important! : Immobiliser

I have a mk1 1997 saxo vtr and i cant get it to start. The car has a keypad immobiliser but this was taken out when my mate owned it and the car started all the time without any problems. He left the car sitting a few days then it wouldn't start again. He put the keypad back in as the fuel pump wouldn't prime but the car tries to start it just wont fire up. He tried to swap over fuel pumps from a car that was definately priming and that didn't work we still cant hear it prime.

I've now bought the car off him to try and get it running for my girlfriend but still no luck. Ive been offered a single plug ecu that was used in a vts conversion will this work to get the vtr started? Does any single plug ecu fit a single plug loom or do i need a certain one?

    Thanks, JEEMO.

Can anyone help at all? Even if they could confirm an unlocked single plug vts ecu would fit the vtr's single plug loom, even if its a different code to the old one will it matter since its unlocked?

i know that you could replace it for a unlocked single plug vtr ecu but not sure about vts

Yeah hoping if i fit an unlocked ecu it will start by blanking the imobiliser. Just looking for someone to confirm if i could fit a different ECU thats also single plug but its unlocked and the code isnt the same.
