60mm lowering springs on a 1.1 *Do i need to change shocks?*

  1. #1
Maybe buying some 60mm lowering springs from someone, had a quick search, couldnt get a straight forward answer, so just a quick question.

Would 60mm lowering springs for a 1.6 vt fit my 1.1?
And i assume it wouldn't actually lower it 60mm, more like 50mm because of engine weight etc?

    Cheers, Grant

all saxo springs will fit, not 100% sure on the drop. dont imagine it to be far off the quoted drop.

Nice one mate, you have any troubles with rubbing etc? what profile tyres are on your vtr wheels..

60mm should be fine on standard vtr wheels

Oh hello mate, i completely forgot about asking you. Got my 60mm vtr springs coming this evening. ermm my tyres are 185/55/14 i think, guy on here is down 60mm on the front and says he has no rubbing issues. He has vtr alloys also.

So i dont need to change the shocks, but eventually and quicker than usual i will have to yeah?

Also what shocks you got and reccommend?
  12. #12
okay well im guessing your having the back lowered to yeh? if so do will need to bend the lip up out of the way i found that with the 185 tyre that it did rub on mine but only at the back so ive now got 165 on the back and not a single problem as for the shocks no you dont need to do it but it is recommended

Okay mate cheers, how low are you on the back then?
  14. #14
im down 60 at the back to but even at 40 it rubbed a little bit, u might be able to angle grinder the lip off to give you some more room
