Changed alternator belt

I changed my alternator belt today as I thought it was slipping and making a high pitched squeak, turns out the noise is still there! I think it might be coming from the near side, I did think it could be the pas pump but surly that would either squeak all the timber not at all, any ideas??

Power steering pumps don`t squeek on saxo`s unless i`m wrong are you sure its not your alternator bearings or cambelt tensioner making the noise?

Try some belt dressing, if the squeak stops it's still the belt.
    Could be loose.

I changed the headgasket, timing belt, stretch bolts and tensioner a couplebof werks ago, but to be fair i didnt change my water pump, surly it wouldnt squeak imtermittenly and it only squeaks when i gently use the acclelorater or take my food off it, when Idleing it don't make a noise, I have put my headlights/ rear window heater, fans on fill, so that the belt is under more stress but it still won't make the noise. I checked my alternator today when I had the belt off steve

What's belt dressing buddy? The drive belt is perfect tightness now, the old one was too tight.

tbh i'm not sure was just some spray stuff my dad had.
It sprays a tacky substance that gives the belt a bit more grip.

Would help when i had a squeaky belt.

My timing belt or drive belt?

you often find that a new cam belt will put an old water pump under a lot more stress and that is why you often change them at the same time.....plus its easy to do whilst your at it.

Id say your water pump is now under stress with the cambelt being tensioned up.

if my water pump was under stress it would squeak when I accelerate/when I put on my lights/ fan on full/ rear window heater steering on lock etc This is what makes me think it's not the water pump

If its coming from the N/S its going to be clutch related - probably the release bearing.

Its easy to rule out the power steering pump by unplugging it and the drive belt by taking it off and checking if the noise is still there.

Thanks buddy you have gave me an idea, well I adjusted my clutch bite the other week and my release bearing may be permanent engaged slightly! I'll slacken it off tomorrow and see if it's still there! Thanks buddy, p.s I have checked it with the drive belt off, but I haven't pulled the plug on the pas pump so I will check that also.
