General question about exhaust...

   I have just put a 1.1 centre section on my car to make it de-cat. Am looking to buy another backbox as my standard one is on its way... been looking at ashleys as they sound nice! Does anyone know if it will sound stupiedly loud etc, as i dont really want it too loud.
   
   Am i just better at getting another standard backbox, as atm it isnt too loud but is raspy but it sounds like baffles are going in the backbox :/
   
   any ideas?

   Piper backboxes are fairly quiet IMO.
   Never had an experience with ashley boxes. Im sure they are pricey tho.
   Can pick a piper up for around £80/100 brand new

   Thanks, do you know if the centre section would make a lot of noise difference as it doesnt have a silencer?

   De-cats dont tend to make much difference to sound IMO, just the gas flow more than anything.
   
   Best person to speak to is Gazer on here. His got a Manifold back S/S system with de-cat pipe...and a piper 3" box. You carnt really hear it until you hit 3500/4000rpm

   i had a full ashley race system on my GTI when i got it, it was VERY,VERY LOUD!! changed it for a pugsport 10x better imo, how much are the Ashley backboxes new? (pressume your buying a new one??) only reason a say is you can pick up a full system secondhand on here for around £100, or evan a saxsport for around £180 worth thinking about

   My mate had a Ashley full exhaust on his VTS and it sounded nice, thats why i thought about getting a Ashley backbox. As i have just bought and paid for a 1.1 centre pipe been fitted on my Saxo am only looking for a backbox really, plus dont really want to spend over £100
