single plug engine loom

i got a vtr engine not to long ago and told it would fit due to being same age and reg (apparently) but the loom is totally different to my car
i have a 3 plug ecu to a big interior loom on my car
the new engine is single plug to small interior plug

basically what would i have to do to the engine to get the 3 plug loom to fit my car and engine

tbh i would start again, if they sold you a single plug engine saying it would fit a 3 plug ecu they lied...

i know yh he said it was same year and reg as mine and on the wire loom it has 1999 printed on a label so obviously he lied to me so im a bit wery of the whole engine naw

so if i get a 3plug loom and ecu would i need to change anything on my vtr engine if its single plug

Unsure mate, know this may not be a massive help but i have a single plug ecu etc off a car im breaking, your more than welcome to make an offer on it and will let it go cheap to help out another member

You need to splice the loom, im about to put a single plug into my 3-plug.

get a vtr wireing loom m8 im in the middle of converting my 16 v into an 8 cause i cant find a 1.6 16v were i am and i have the same problem but i solved it by geting a vtr loom and ecu hope that helps

i got everything i needed but the loom is different on the interior plug so it wont fit just need to know what i need to do to either get that loom to fit or if there is a loom that fits straight in if you know what i mean

there is 2 looms m8 no sorry 3 one goes from the ecu to the starter and to the under bonnet fuse box the other runs from thbattery to the fuse box and there is one right down the bot of the rad that goes into the car mate witch one are u on about bud.

well i bought a single plug ecu engine apparently from same year and so on and the guy told me it was same loom as i asked for and didnt notice till i took it all off that its a tottally different engine loom

my car had a 3plug ecu to big interior loom

the engine had 1plug ecu to small interior plug

if you know what i mean

basically is there an engine loom i can use to run this engine my car

i know you can get looms which have the 1plug ecu and big interior plug but will they run the engine in my car

yh it was a furio (well still is) and got a vtr engine
because i didnt want to 16v it as i herd you can have loads of problems

ahhh so u got the ecu and the other stuff from the key barrel like the key of the car the ecu came from because it has a chip in it that is linked to ur ecu so ehen u change the ecu u have to get the key fronm the same car as it will not start cause this is what has hapend to me i never got the key just the ecu mate and yeh you should be able to get a vtr loom to conect to ur little plug next to the rad cause u dnt have to change the wiring inside the car just the loom that runs from the ecu to the battery and fuse box but dont forget the 2 wires under the ecu mate ..

yh i got the key, barrel and transponder box or sumet although i have no idea were this is located at the moment so would you say all i need is a loom that fits and i shudnt have problem

the loom i got had a different plug onit

yeh and if u got the key all u do is take off ur old barrel and replace it with the one u got and when u are doing that ull see were the transponder goes but i would have tryed runing the 1.6 on ur 1.4 loom and ecu mate and just got it remaped saves all the hassel

i know yh i got told that after i sold it
i mite just take a trip down local scrappy see what they got
been told that loads of vtr's in there but i hope soom from same year

and if i change the barrel and stuff will i not a have any problems with immobiliser or anything

na mte the cip in the key and the ecu and the immobiliser are all connected and talk to each other .
yeh i would go to the scrap yard and get a loom from a vtr mk2 by the looks of ur pic mate because the mk1 mite be differnt .
