just changed the alternator, rev counter doesnt work and i put about 25 quids worth of petrol in and its still not lifted the needle.
blown fuse? or other?

try the fueses and relays and if that fails it could be damaged solder but when i had this problem i just replaced the dials

checked fuses f1 and f3? both look good
and can it really be the solder? cos the light for the empty tank is still on...i wudda thought no solder would kill that too?

Have you unplugging the battery for 1/2 an hr?Also re-check your alternator connections.
