I want to remove the back badges, spray them and put them back on. I have all the paints and primer from when i was doing my grille. Just wondered how hard they are to get off/get back on, and if ill need to buy any special glue or nething to put them back on?

#2heat up with a heat gun or hairdryer and peal them off using a screwdriver carefully. this should leave the original glue on car still. when it comes to putting them back on just re-heat this glue and put badges back on!
-
#3OK mate ill give it a bash 2moz cheers
-
#4shouldn't need a screwdriver, just heat them up & pull off by hand.
i need to get new sticky pads or something though, my original citroen one isn't to good on one side -
#5yeah just use a hairdryer to get them off n i just used this glue from work for sticking sumps onto engines lol
-
#6credit card or similar works well but can scratch the paint. i found fishing wire worked really well
-
#7fish wire . . . mmm it makes sense!
nice one mate
-
#8fish wire, nice idea man i just pushed mine out from back n really hurt my fingers lol
-
#9just open your boot and push the little sticks back through the holes. Not heating or anything like that needed.

#12Bit of an old thread but I want to do this. I brought my car debadged but how far do the stumps go into the boot? I read further up that they go all the way through but mine may have been filled in a tad with something. How do I get around this as I cannot push them all the way through?

#13in pos blue

#14I like the posi blue thing and a hairdryer with some cotton is one of the safer methods.
Here a pic of mine with balck badges its not a close up though:

#16ive got flip paint ones. red and gold, il have to post some pics...so watch this space!!!
-
#17the citroen and saxo badges are £7.90 new from citroen and come with new adeheisive pads so u might aswell get new and spray
-
#18If you want them in black just keep them on the car and rub t-cut over them for a bit, eventually the silver will fade away and voila...black badges.

#19As stevenet15 said... you can buy the badges from Citroen for quite cheap and they already come with the sticky backing.
Otherwise if you're putting your original ones back on, then buy some 1mm double sided pads from Halfrauds or similar. They sell them with the number plates, etc... If you are doing this, make sure you trim the pads down so they're a near enough perfect fit to the back of the badges. Otherwise, you'll see the white pads from the back of the car. Even using the pads, doesn't guarantee a good tight fit because they're not as strong as the original backing that comes with the badges.
I just pulled my badges off with my hands and the use of a credit card (or similar). Didn't need any heat gun... Too much effort. Haha!
I want to do mine at some point. I'm going to buy some new ones from Citroen and do those ones black. What are the procedures in painting them? -
#20i would have thought you paint them as normal, rub donw with some wet and dry to give somethign for the paint to hold onto, then plastic primer, then secondary colour coat, then laquer job done
-
#21yea its easy to do, i done mine black a little while ago. Jus prime, paint and lacquer, and if ur sticky pads arent any good, just use some silicone stuf. End result looks very gd
