Hi all, looking for some help fairly urgently as i have now been of the road fr 3 weeks and riding a bike to work is going to kill me slowly and painfully.
Basically three weeks ago, i was driving my car along and came to a stop at some lights the engine was running really lumpy, and when i pulled off the revs were going up and down between two RPM's (power and no power) so when driving in gear the car was jerking really badly, however if i floored the throttle it would rev and move off. The next day i drove to work in the morning fine, however when starting the engine it required some throttle to tick over but when warmed up it was idling fine. Coming home from work the revs were again going up and down fairly constantly whilst driving so there was a loss of power and then power no power etc etc. Also traffic lights became very tricky.
Just wondering what you think may be the problem.
Things i have done so far are,
- changed the coil pack
- changed the plugs
- changed the green temperature sensor on the side of the engine
today i removed the air inlet from the carburettor body when the engine was warm and set the throttle in a position that creates the alternating revs, and noticed that the fuel doesn't seem to be injected when the revs die??
What may be causing this?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
btw, the car is a 1997 'P' Reg saxo 1.1i x
Thanks again
Nobby
