my vtr power steering feels heavy ?

   iv just bought a saxo vtr mk2 and the power steering feels too heavy iv tapped the pump and it now works but still need to know how long do i have till needs replacing?

   sometimes the tap does the trick for a while, or sometimes only very temporary, cant really tell.

   my friends dad tapped the cable earlier and said it was fine for a while went to go down gf house and was broke again

   a mate of mine wacked the pump with a hammer about a year and a half ago, its still running, not a problem
