New VTR owner with idle problems

  1. #1
Ive had my VTR for just over a month now and for the first week or so was fine but the car is starting to idle badly and has started to get worse , ive had the car in 4 different garages near where i live but nobody seems to know what the problem is and how to fix it.

Ive done a search on here and it seems that idleing problems are very common with saxos and most people seem to have changed several sensors/icv etc...

And still have the same problems after spending alot on new parts .

Basically my car once started idles irratically between 800-1500rpm and has now started to cut out on me alot , like i will be sat at the traffic lights and sometimes when i put my foot down it kinda splutters abit and then goes and some times you go to accelerate and nothing happens and then with no warning the car shoots off , which i think is very dangerous and could cause me to crash into the car in front.

I really do like the car and dont want to get rid of it if i have to but after what ive read on other idle problem threads on here i`m not sure what to do.

If anyone can help me it would be much appreciated.

Check your plugs and coil pack and clean up your icv and throttle body

Sorry to be a noob but what should i use to clean the throttle body / icv ?

Besides a good helping of elbow grease

Any degreaser, carb cleaner, brake cleaner, wd40 etc.

4 garages? None of them had any idea what it could be? That seems fucked up

You should ideally use carb cleaner though as there's a protective layer inside it to protect it from rust
