Bad earth?

Could a bad earth cause a saxo to idle rough and not want to rev?

Probably not in all fairness. Faulty injector, coilpack, spark plug, water in fuel, missing vacuum pipe, dead green temp sensor, map sensor, split servo diaphragm or inlet manifold leak could do though.

if you suspect an earth, check the big earth cable on the gearbox, thats the main ign./ecu earth.

Try disconnecting the quick release pipe from the brake servo then blocking the manifold were it attached to check brake servo diaphragm not allowing air to enter the engine. Take 5 mins and you can tick it off your list.
