Check all earths mate, especially the gearbox 1, as the powersteering and all your other problems are electric faults, The whinning will probs be the alternator belt to tight, i done this on mine and if i was driving down narrow street it sounded electric, done my head in for days till i found out it was that, Take to the belt off and start the car, if the whinning as gone you know its the belt, Hope this helps

Your idle control valve has re set i think.... try this unplug the icv get in and turn on the ignition dont start it then take the key out then go plug the icv back in.

You dont need to touch the icv in this next step ..

get back in and turn the ignition on again dont start it you should hear the fuel pump kick in once it stops making a noise remove the key do this 5 times then on the 6th go start it let me no if it works.

As for the whineing i think it's the camshaft pully did you knock it during conversion... check it left hand side of the engine big pully at the buttom has 3 13mm nuts in it sometimes the rubber in the middle wear's out and causes it to whine and if it's to worn it will stop your heating and power steering from working is the battery light on the dash coming up ?.

I've put a new icv on it because the other one jus wudnt work, and it runs and doesn't cut out now but tbh it runs like a bag of shit, I hvnt had s chance to look at the pulley yet tho buh cud that expect alot of performance of engine, just runs really lumpy n I drove it up snd down the Road it's not nice to drive atall
