2nd lighter socket.

I'm planning on fitting a second lighter socket but electrics not being my thing I don't won't to wire up anything just yet.

Don't want to molester the existing wiring so was just going to get a live feed from the battery.

Now my worry is that when the battery is being charged is it going to put more current down the line blowing anything i have plugged in?
Not sure if the standard socket has a resistor or what not.

Just use an in line fuse and it'll be grand.

    Isnt this easier?

There's no voltage regulator between the battery and the 12v lighter Alex - all components have a high tolerances to voltages and can comfortably work at 15v. There are however two fuses so if something does go wrong it'll be the fuse that takes the beating rather than the electronics of whatever you're connecting.

Thanks mr Sayer, I've got a live feed direct from battery to a fuse panel i've installed so will be running off that.
