Right guys, ive sorted everything for it accept one problem. The manifold wont fit on properly, because the bottom left hand stud hits the pipe before its anywhere near the head, meaning i cant fit it on.

My idea was to get a bolt of some kind, with the same thread width and screw it in like that?

    Anyone got any other ideas?

I had this problem except mines heatwrapped too so its even worse lol, with all the nuts slackened and a lot of moving it around and swearing i just managed to get it on, all cause i didnt want to cut the stud down haha.

To do it properly you need to loosen all the manifold studs. Pull the manifold back a little bit and then you can start to rotate the difficult studs a few turns and slowly start to edge the manifold back to the head, do all the studs a little bit in stages. Tighten to 25Nm I think

    Sorted.

Small update. Got it on today, with two bolts instead of stud's. But again, the left hand bottom one isnt in, because theres no room for a spanner there :/.

Another problem I have is that, where the mani meets the centre pipe, the holes where the screw, spring and nut go through dont line up. I can get it through one but not another... Any clues on this?

Thanks for the other replies as well

You can just about get a spanner in from underneath, takes ages, can only turn the nut like half a turn at a time but it is do-able. The whole bracket bit on the manifold moves, like back and forth and around aswell doesnt it? I presume they use the same bit on the 16v manifolds to the 8v anyway. I seem to remember that being the easiest bit, you sure you've got the gasket sat properly?
