gear linkage

   hi i am new to the forum so please be gentle with me....lol
   i have just bought a Y reg saxo for my lad and the main problem is the gear change is sloppy...which parts do i need to replace and is there a repair kit available....many thanks....gary.

   just replace the 3 gear linkages 2 small 1 long theres a set on ebay for about £44 brand new, saxo gear change is really poor anyway there french lol
   
   whilst your under the car tighten the bolts that keep it solid youll see what i mean when you get under with a tourch
   
   good luck these gear linkages just pop off with little force no hidden screws

   had a go at mine today,i seems the pin that holds the linkage to the gearbox has been replaced with a nut and bolt which has a stripped thread so i cant tighten it or remove it..Grrrr...
   going to try and drill it out and see if i can replace it with the proper pin....

   managed to drill the bolt out and put a drill bit in the hole to test the linkage and it works fine...thanks for the info on this problem,just need to visit the"main stealer" to get the correct pin on friday....many thanks.....gary
