Water Level & Temp

   Morning!
   
   I'm a bit concerned about my water level. In the past 2 days I've driven near on 500 miles and my water level never changed and the temperature sat exactly in the middle of the gauge. I did notice the fan come on once when I had stopped. The heater blows out lovely hot air so that's not broken.
   
   Do I need to bleed the water system? Or do I need a new thermostat?

   If the system is tight then you shouldn't lose any water... and the temperature should sit halfway if the thermostat, rad and fan are in good working order.
   
   Out of interest in the 500 miles you've covered, what were you expecting to the water level and temps to be?

   Really? So my Saxo is fine? =]
   
   I was expecting the water to go down cos of the hot weather we've been having and I was sat in quite a bit of traffic. I just worry that there might be an air lock cos i flushed her out and bled her.

   Yeah the car sounds absolutely fine to me! If you haven't overfilled the water then it won't have to vent through the expansion cap/valve.

   I fill the water up to till you can just about see it at the top of the hole. I'm guessing that is the bottom of the expansion bottle.

   Just fill it up with 50/50 antifreeze water, the rad will spit out what is excess after a while and settle down. If temp > half then check it out. Fan will come on on warm days after being in traffic for 5 mins or more in my experience. If it coming on a lot then your rad might be corroded or air flow restricted by grill 'mods'.
