reason i ask is am going to be getting a new gear box and am gona replace the input shaft seal!!

Its the guide sleeve for the clutch release bearing so that it travels in the right direction to the input shaft, if the clutch is just worn then it should be ok but if the clutch has gone suddenly theres a chance somthing has snapped on the pressure plate and potentially damaged the sleeve.

its the input shaft cover very rarely u need to replace them to be honest
