Which rear lights?

  1. #1
Another thread requiring your opinions from me

Which rear lights do people think would suit a black mk2 best, smoked jewels or those clear ones with the bottom half read..Ultra euro clears or something.

I originally wanted smoked Jewels but am now nearing the euro clear ones as I think they look pretty good against black and aren't as overly done.

Also, has anyone ever bought smoked jewels and tinted the bottom half red on those? Or got the ultra clears, tinted the bottom red and smoked the top half?

alot of people think there gash but its all down to personal preference at the end of the day and i think if you get the balance right then they look smart but i agree that 9 times out of 10 they do look mingin. like mine at the minute dont look great i admit but when iv done what i wanna do to the car i hope they will fit in if not iv kept the originals and will smoke um

Cheers lads, they're deffo the ones I'm closest to getting.

As for smoked top, it would look a bit like mk1 lights but more modern, think ill probably do the euro lights and then use some window tint film to see what the top half tinted looks like. Or I may just stop being lazy and redownload photoshop lol.

As for the diffuser on the bottom one, no idea but I wan't it lol.

I like the standards mate, thats why I'm gonna go for the bottoms I think then they will at least look nice and modern without looking too different from standard.

I thought everyone would be voting for the smoked jewels, they seem very popular on here.

    Are those bottom ones these:

Or are they clear jewels that have had the bottoms fully tinted?
If so can anyone link a thread guide?

But yes, the bottom looks better.

They're tinted clear jewels mate, well I think so and thats what i'll be going for, not keen on the snakeye ones.

I'm not sure if there is a guide mate, do a search. Should be easy to do though, just a case of masking up, keying the bottom half..tinting, then removing the tape...finely sanding the mask line then lacquering the whole lot, thats the way I'm gonna be doing it I think anyway.

Yeah I noticed after taking a second looking over.
Looks like I'll have to pick me up a set of them clear jewels aswell, there's not many rear lights that I like the look of for Saxo's

    mate, keep the standards!
i bought a new set of standards for that car so they looked cleaner and 'more modern'

but if you are going to change them - go for the second set

Seems to be, the more unique mod on a saxo is standard lights, every man and his dog has aftermarket now.

    imo

I really like those bottom ones! I've been thinking about changing my rear lights because my saxo came with lexarse lights.

    defo the bottom ones

Aftermarket lights look so cheap and tacky

    Oem or all red..

Those bottom ones look smart but the standards look perfectly good to imo.

ah is that why, they do seem to stand out more than ive seen on other saxos, i wondered why lol.

And i'm not sure what to do tbh mate, i've gone off the idea of the smoked jewels. I really do like the euro clear and red ones but I don't wanna step on your toes if you get me.

yeah the ones before were starting to look a bit old and worn, the car was about 6 years old at the time too, so i bought some new ones, made the rear look loads smarter i reckon

nah not at all mate, go for what you want
its good to see someone else input to the car, your ideas so far sound sweet mate
