Clutch / Driveshaft

Had this noise for a while, finally took it for a checkup.

They say both drive-shafts need doing, labour @ £40 + VAT

but they say it could be a clutch problem too due to the noise but i thought it was all drive-shaft related due to boot clips being off for a while (unnoticed)

    noises:

-Rattling when turning and sometimes a squeak from the left wheel.
-after going up to 30-50 mph a constant grinding/rubbing noise upon deceleration and cruise speed, goes quite on accel. does it in gear, nuetral and clutch in so no clutch noise there right? it's all the driveshaft?

How cheap can i get a decent pair of driveshafts also? any links / recommendations appreciated.

    so far i've found:

Used ones in decent conditions £60 for both or £49.99 each with 2 yr ultd mile warranty.

isnt it unusual for both drive shafts to go at the same time?

One deffinately has done but the clips had been off both for some time allowing them to leak and get damaged. so its worth doing both to save on labour in the future. it was £30 for the one or £40 labour for both.

best having 2 new in my eyes?

just checked your progress, love the car. I wanted black with red theme but then at the time I found a good red and decide on red with black theme ha

How much did you pay on the gloss black bumps or did it come standard?

+ the garage said it's the driveshafts that need doing, dont need new cv joints and things with them do you? he didn't say anything about them like but saves doing 2 orders ;D

---- what gearbox oil is best to replace with? brand + type please anyone appreciated. ----
