£160 seems steep to me! i had mine finished in 2 hours, that would have been a maximum of £100 labour if i didnt do it myself

yeah but a garage wouldn't charge for two hours labour for a gearbox change normally At least 3. which would bring it to £150/£160 ish, not many people charge as little as KrisB

It really depends on who you go to.

Garage would usually charge 3 hours labour for a clutch change
Ring up a few and ask, if they can't quote a static price then ask their hourly labour charge and times that by 3

most places charge around 40quid an hour around here and its normally a 2-3 hour job depending how quick they crack on with it and how many cups of tea they have during.

Id say around 120ish mark ( not including what you've already spent on the clutch of course )

I supplied my own clutch and paid £200 inc vat when I got mine done. Was the cheapest quote I got from 6 different local garages, Mind you the people who do my car are proper honest car enthusiasts who do competitive racing.

thing is most garages won't let you give them a clutch to fit it has to be bought through them as thats the only way they can validate the work.

true but this isnt your normal everyday garage..plus I dont trust most garages to supply anything as they just supply a shit brand and poorly fit those shit parts...around my way it is anyway.

Been quoted about £250 inc parts and VAT.
