harness question

   i just been pulled over for wearing my harness ? it is a red TRS harness bolted in were the old seat belt would fit at the rear and on the side of my seat.
   but the police officer said apparently it is still illegal as it hasnt been saftey checked or anything like that.
   
   is this true or not ?

   does it have the seatbelt type buckle or a aircraft style race one?

   has the buckle on it. what i was thinking was that he thought it was illegal and he went in the police car and went on the phone and was told that it is actually legal and didnt want to look like a spoon so he said its illegal and he's going to let me off and not write me a ticket

   Dont worry about it then, if he made a call and didnt issue you with anything, then he was in the wrong, its legal and fine.

   well they cannot be expected to know every law. Dont worry about it. As long as its got the buckle its perfectly fine. I vaguely remember the FIA race style ones are a no no but it was a long time ago since I drove a car with harnesses on the road and therefore looked it up. Nowadays I just have a cg lock.

   So are aircraft style latches illegal to use on road? I use mine between stages in the rally car.
