Important! : brake lights not working? >:(

  1. #1
hi, on my way home earlier i noticed my brake lights arent working... its really odd 'cos the top brake light bar works, but the brake lights in each light cluster dont work...
all the other lights work, side lights, fog lights, reverse light etc just not the brake light - so it can't be the fuse
is this a common problem or is there a simple solution??? any help would be greatly appreciated! cheers

i cant see it being the bulbs as the side lights work, plus it'd be pretty unluckky if both brake lights blew at the same time?

If it is the brake light switch I would be surprised as none of the brake lights would work I would have thought.

Cheapest and easiest start is to replace the bulbs and then see what's cracking. Iirc they are twin filament bulbs so it could just be that the brake filament has gone

I think its common sense to replace the bulbs before making an important thread brake lights dont work....... because that would be an obvious reason. As whats been said they are double filiment bulbs so the brake one may have gone, maybe one has been gone a while and you havnt noticed and now the others gone........ it replaced the bulbs dont sort it id check earths, might be worth checking them anyway as it could be why both may have blown.
