Flat arch, Or VT Kit?

  1. #1
I Got a 1.1 Saxo.. and they come standard flat arch..
is it easy to fit a VT Kit?
or is it a pain in the bumhole??

my mate is selling his VT kit for 50 quid.. all parts, just wondering if i should buy it and use it or do the kits not fit on the flat arches?

    Comments pleasee!!!

Yes they fit, there is a guide in the stickies in this section, have a butch. For 50 quid you might aswell do it

It's not worth it you've got a 1.1 might as well leave it that way. Looks silly a 1.1 with a vt kit in it imo especially if people know it's not meant to be a vt

Do what you think looks better, its your car at the end of the day. I done it to mine for a few reasons, 1. I got it super cheap, 2. It looks 10 x better, 3. I'm getting a 1.6 in so it makes sense. Doesn't matter what engine size you have, if you like it do it
  5. #5
if you can afford £50 and have the time to do it yourself/money if you someone else fits it for you, then id say its well worth it.
Flat arch saxos look gay as fcuk

I wouldnt vt a 1.1 mainly as its a 1.1 not a vtr or a vts. If your going to change the engine to a 1.6 then id say its worth it, but not a 1.1 with a vt kit. But if you prefer the vt then do it.

Its not about engine size, its about the car looking better

    VT it.. Muuuuch better

go with whatevers on your mind mate, in my opinion VT kit looks much better than flat arch, they are fairly easy to fit if you know what your doing, the hardest part would probs be cutting the arches,
if you want the easiest way possible just tiger seal the full kit on (bumpers are a direct fit). Good luckk
  10. #10
just vt the front bumper and arches i think that looks quite good on the flattys when done properly
  11. #11
Leave it flatarch... Check Tom's sig for my input.
  12. #12
The cutting the arch part i dont wanna do.. cuz if i cut too much off, im f***ed!
Im gonna leave it flat arch for the time being, as im looking to buy a Citroen C2 VTS within the next 12 months, save my money for insurance i think

Thanks for the comments guy !

  15. #15

    Whatabout colour coding bumpstrips???
Who thinks colour coding bumpstrips look better than black one?? (sprayed Black)
  17. #17
I think it looks good on white saxos but not other colours just my opinion gloss black looks best
  18. #18

Fitting is easy enough but will look stupid if it is a different colour?
Price of a decent respray of just the kit will probably cost more than your car is worth.

Plus, once you tell your insurance company they 'could' increase the price to the same as a VTR, on the basis that it will look like one to any thieves.

Please don't say 'I wont tell them' because if you claim, any insurance person will know full well what a Saxo 1.1 body is meant to look like....

    ^^^^^

    Incredibly True :/

im deffo keeping it flat arch!

VT Kits do look better than flat arch, (My Opinion)
but is it worth the hassle on a a 1.1 hmmm,
Personaly i would leave it as a flat arch, theres some great Flat arch's around spesh on here, have a look around to get some good ideas what you can do to yours

the body kits for the 1.1 are a bigger mod then just taking a standard kit off a bigger engine model.

also, someone put up on here the other day that everyone thinks they have to let the insurance know as soon as they change something, when in actual fact its proven that you only have to tell them about new mods upon renewal. they encourage people to tell them straight away so they have something to boost up your insurance for say, but you legally dont have to untill renewal.

vt kit looks better then the flatarch by miles, hundreds of miles

This is actually incorrect, if you read the thread you are referring to in the insurance section you will see that the original poster was proved wrong.

You do have to tell your insurance company about ANY mod as soon as you have done it, not wait until renewal time.

Just because someone writes it on a forum, doesn't make it true

Here is the thread, have a read:

i read the first page when it was posted, seemed pretty valid to me, if they were found out to be wrong then my bad, but i didnt go back to it after to check up what people replied. ill have a little look later on.. where is the proof that you have to inform the insurance company straight away then?

    Fifth post on that thread

It's an extract from Aviva's policy wording which states you must let them know immediately of any modifications to the vehicle

The ONLY thing that constitutes proof is something written in black and white from your insurance company, either in a policy document, the terms and conditions or in your insurance documents

Never ever believe anything someone on a forum tells you (without validating it afterwards) or even what someone from an insurance company tells you over the phone. Always see it in black and white as this will stand up in court if you ever have any problems when claiming. Trying to prove a conversation which the insurance company magically failed to record won't stand up in court...

yeh i had a little read, i see now..

a few posts down it was saying a reason to inform on the mods is if you claim off your insurance for instance on a 1.1 standard, theyre only going to pay out what a standard 1.1 would be worth, not any of the mods at all...atm none of my mods are on my insurance, im just praying i dont crash ey! (i wouldnt claim off insurance anyways - local body shop is the way forward and pay for the other cars damage *if my fault* in cash!) cheers for the reassurance though, now if i get stopped i wont say im right for not informing insurance!

I would definatly do it mate, I dont understand why there is people saying "it wont make it a 1.6" as your not trying to achieve that! VT kit looks a lot better, i think they can be quite tricky to install the side skirts but if you have the know how and time I would go for it.

Flat arch's are for the win to be honest, vt kits are gey.... weigh more
  35. #35
vtr/s kits the best for saxo not chavy
  36. #36
def vt kit it, not feeling the flat arch thing one bit
  37. #37
VT it ive got a flat arch, cant stand it :L
