Forte vs Vtr??

    Hey Guys I own a MkII Vtr and I never realised how much it rattled!!

    I've just driven a measly flat arch forte and I can't tell you how much I preffered it! Not power wise but quality wise. It was so sturdy and everything worked perfectly.

    Now I want to start tackling my rattle's which I didn't realise I had untill I drove this forte. So question is;

    What are the areas to look out for when tackling loose parts and rattles?

    Check the following ;

    * Exhaust rubbers, if their to loose it makes your exhaust rattle like mad.
    * Heatshield
    * Boot lock, tighten it up
    * Roof skin
    * Gear stick
    * Dashboard
    * if your car is de-wipered, sometimes the remaining cables rattle inside the bootlid
    And
    * Parcelshelf.

    The door cards rattle like crazy. I've just been in the car poking and prodding everything to see if it squeaks. Majority of it seems to be the doors. Also the gear stick is quite loose. Anyway of tightening it / fixing it etc?

    Could be any of the following mate ;
    Ball detent, Selector rods, Roll pin or even your linkages mate.
    My advice if your unsure what they are ^^ take it to a garage and tell them to look at it.

    Strip out the interior 1 sure fire way of removing rattles.

    which nut is it that tightens the boot lock.... I get a very annoying rattle from the back myself, Almost as if the boot is moving a few mm on a rattly road. Would it be the lock ?

    Or turn the music up a notch

    I had many, many rattles.

    I soon discovered removing the majority of the interior works wonders
