Why would my battery be overcharging?

   What would this be down to?
   
   I recently painted the bay, could an earth not be good enough due to having paint on it?
   
   PAS was also removed but left wiring in could that be it?
   
   Oh and I drove round for a day or so with the neutral on the battery not bolted down properly its sorted now but would that have caused it?
   
   EDIT: could it be down to the engine overheating due to halfords autocentres bollocking up my car.
   
   any help would be appreciated.

   if your battery over charging means your alternator is kicking out too much ampage
   causing the battery to pretty much fry itsself over time

   i would agree with above, alternator is putting out to much, i wud try another one and that shud help

   what voltage are you seeing with a multi meter?

   The regulator that is responsible for the regulation of amps to the battery sounds knackered, all alternators go some time
