Quick 16v conversion question

    I have bought a 16 v engine and it Came with,

    Engine
    Imobiliser
    Pick up ring
    Key

    It didn't come with the barrel so what do I do? Can I rip my old Immobiliser out and not use the other? Or do I have to swap the chip in the key?

    Get your original key cut and programmed to the new key so you can use your old barrell and a new key the same pattern as your old but with the new chip, simples. I have done it before.

    Where would I get that done? A normal key shop?

    Could tape his key and pickup together and hide it behind the dash

    Renders the immobiliser useless but so does unlocking the ecu like most conversions have

    thats what I was thinking of doing just wasnt sure if it worked. So just plug the ring in and tape the key to it?

    Just looked at the vtr Immobiliser and and am I being silly or cant you plug the vtr one in? Is there any way around it?
