well my brakes are knackered i think ive got a front caliper leaking and a rear drum leaking so cost a bit to fix ive got 3 stud hubs so im thinking would it be cheaper to go to scrappy and take front legs with brakes on and rear axel with discs of a vtr/s and then i would have good brakes and 4 stud solving 2 problems how much would this cost ??? and how hard to fit ??

    thanks

Not that hard if you know how .

The frount is just swap over. u will need a anti roll bar aswell and new droplinks for vtr/s

    Axle is strate swap.

how long has said vtr been sat in the scrappy gathering rust dust etc vtr brakes will be better but spend the money buy em new

ive not had any problems with my saxo and one of the most reliable cars i ever had was a 1.4 106 quicksilver, saxo's are a cheap and easy car for kids to mod, most kids dont spend money they bodge it hence the bad reputation for reliability

what other solution would you suggest? upgrading to vt front struts + rear beam is the most logical thing to do if you want bigger brakes and 4 stud wheels

i think you missing my point there, yes the equipment is the right choice the source is not i only use scrap yards for body panels and purely asthetic components, when it comes to the mechanical internals surely its better to buy new where you know if the part isnt right it will be changed for one that is

not always best when you havent got the money to buy new in a ideal world i be replacing loads of parts with new but with having to pay bills and bring up a child and hardly affording to run a car the cheapest way is the best way
