Fuel Pump?

  1. #1
Car started having problems with starting... Sometimes, when you turn the key two times, the fuel pump does not prime. To fix the problem, I must "hit" the fuel tank multiple times and then the car starts fine. I have no problems with fuelling while driving, and no cut-outs. Problem is only when starting. As the problem is fixed by hitting the fuel tank, I think the fuel pump relay near the ECU is OK. Do I need a new fuel pump? How much does a new one cost? Is changing it an easy job to do?

    Cheers!

Ouch! I'll try to get one from eBay... but first I have a new fuel filter which I will fit as the current one seems to be hanging (without the retaining clip), maybe it's the filter's fault!

Would this be ok? It's not a genuine citroen part but would that really make a difference in performance, fuelling etc?

I need to get this over with as I don't want the pump to completely die on me leaving me stranded!
