R reg different system to s reg

   How many different type of immobilser are there on a mk1 vtr. Ive got a pickup around the igntion barrel , immobiliser box and ecu but my mates who both have r reg vtrs havent got a keypad or a chip in the key but have the same ecu and no immobiliser box ..
   what is going on ?

   96-97 had a keypad imobiliser which finished on a 97 as far as im aware and they started to put the chip in the key at 97 so obviously yours is slightly never than your mates if it has the chipped key. My 98 vtr had a chipped key and my 96-97 saxo had a keypad.
