dust cover

   had my car in for mot and on the back sheet it says suspension joint offside lower dust cover is split, can any one tell we exactly what this is? i was told by one fella that if the cover comes off my anti roll bar will come away? any help please?

   Easiest thing to do is to get new lower arm, i wouldn't worry to much though aslong as its passed. But you should get it changed when funds allow.

   i did get a new lower arm to pass the MOT, i dont think people understand what i mean or i dont understand my self, think i will have to go back to the garage and ask them to show me exactly what it is that needs changing?
